Description

Sodium oxalate can act as a reducing agent, and it may be used as a primary standard for standardizing potassium permanganate (KMnO₄) solutions. Useful for general laboratory use: gives basic aqueous solutions, neutralizes exothermic acidic reactions, and acts as a reducing agent in reactions which generate carbon dioxide.
