Description

ACEA (Arachidonyl-2-chloroethylamide) can bind to cannabinoid receptors (CB1) with a high affinity of Ki =1.4nM and act as a potent and selective agonist of the CB1 receptors. ACEA does not bind to the CB2 receptor. CB1 receptors are predominantly expressed in the central and peripheral nervous system. Studies show that ACEA displays vasomotor influence by acting through the channel vanilloid receptors 1 (TRPV1) found on capsaicin-sensitive afferent nerves. Research also shows that ACEA can stimulate cAMP accumulation in trigeminal ganglion (TG) neurons in a calcium and TRPV1 dependent manner.
