Description

15(S)-HETE (HETE) is a metabolite of arachidonic acid via the 15-lipoxygenase pathway. In mammals HETE is biosynthesised in neutrophils, reticulocytes, eosinophils and respiratory epithelium. It has shown to induce immunosuppression, regulate T lymphocytes and stimulate neovascularization and migration of endothelial cells. It has been observed to inhibit prostaglandin E2 in tumor cells and inhibit cell proliferation in colon cancer cells.
