Description

15-KETE is a major metabolite of arachidonic acid that is formed through the Lipoxygenase pathway in interleukin-4 treated human cord blood derived mast cells. 15-HPETE is enzymatically transformed into 15-KETE from homolytic cleavage of the O-O bond. It has also been found to be a product of the oxidation of 15-HETE by lunch prostaglandin dehydrogenase. In mouse liver, 15-hydroxyeicostatetraenoic acid is found to convert into 15-KETE.
