Description

NSC 95397 is a selective and effective dual-specificity, quinone-based phosphatase inhibitor. The compound has been reported to inhibit Cdc25A, B and C, and is more selective than VH1-related dual-specificity phosphatase or protein tyrosine phosphatase 1b. Cdc25A is a phosphatase vital for the progression of the cell cycle and NSC 95397 has been noted to inhibit the G2/M phase transition and cell growth. NSC 95397 has demonstrated the ability to activate ERK-1 and ERK-2, induce tyrosine phosphorylation of EGFR, activate caspase-3, and inhibit MKP-1 and MKP-3.
