Description

3-Vinylpyridine is a pyridine compound substituted with a vinyl group at the 3-position. This is a useful fragment for introducing the pyridine moiety in synthetic protocols, and the design of polymers incorporating 3-Vinylpyridine monomers through nitroxide-mediated radical polymerization has been reported. 3-Vinylpyridine is also used as a marker compound for identifying the presence of environmental tobacco smoke in studies.
